Exhibition Statement
What are Hong Kong and Taiwanese comics artists’ impressions of the other city?
 
Artists from Hong Kong and Taiwan will be joining forces to create an original and imaginative “parallel tale” of the two cities. They will depict their impressions of the cultural scene of their counterpart’s city in the 80s and 90s through distinctive styles and pen strokes.  These delightful manuscripts tell a story that is unique to the two regions – there are no pirates or robotic cats, but instead, a setting that is rich in local culture. It is a search for the feeling of familiarity between the two cities through the medium of comic art.
 
In addition to the exhibition, a series of side events will be held, including artist sharing sessions, live drawing demonstrations and a comic book crossing campaign, serving to foster dialogue between the general public, practitioners and creative talents while providing a sharing platform for like-minded comics fans.  All these interactive events will enable deep understanding of the comics and cultural scene of the two cities.
 
Emphasising on interaction and exchange between Hong Kong and Taiwan, the exhibition will tour to Hong Kong in 2014.

港臺兩地的漫畫創作人，對彼此的城市印象是怎樣的？

多位香港漫畫家將與臺灣同儕聚首一堂，各以自成一格的畫風及筆觸，描繪兩城於八、九十年代的文化風貌，共同創作一部饒富創意與想像的漫畫文化「對照記」。頁頁精美的漫畫手稿，訴說著只屬於港臺兩地的小故事，沒有海賊或機械貓，卻絕對滲透著濃濃的地元文化氣息，實行以漫畫作媒介，尋找雙城那份似曾相識的懷舊感覺。

除展覽外還會舉辦連串的週邊活動，包括創作人分享會、漫畫家1+1現場繪畫示範、漫畫書漂流活動等，拉開公眾、業內人士和創作人的對話空間，並為志同道合的漫畫迷提供分享所好的平台，以互動的方式探入兩地的漫畫生態和文化景象。
